Newsletters are a very important tool in the dynamics of the web: on the one hand they allow companies, sites and blogs to stay in contact with their customers and their public, on the other they allow users to receive updates and information directly on the your email inbox.
We usually give advice on how to manage a newsletter, how to build and send it, how to increase subscribers and so on. Today, however, we move on to the other side and talk about how to manage subscriptions, thanks to a very useful service that we recently tested.
Having used an email for many years, I have found myself subscribed to many newsletters, some very interesting, from which I have no intention of separating, others spammy or in any case Targeted Email List uninteresting, which do not bring me any significant advantage in most cases.
For this reason I searched for and found a service that allowed me to view all my subscriptions and allow me to manage them: it is Unroll Me, a very interesting site at the center of this post.
To use the service, the email must be from one of the following providers:
Outlook.com (Hotmail, MSN, and Windows Live)
Gmail and Google Apps
Yahoo! Mail
AOL Mail
iCloud
If you have registered your email address with one of the sites in the list you can proceed by simply visiting Unroll Me and clicking on the Login item at the top right.
Once logged in, Unroll Me will have access to your inbox and in a few seconds or minutes it will be able to detect the various subscriptions and then create a list.
Once you have this list available, you will be able to choose how to manage your newsletter subscriptions using two options:
Unsubscribe: select for cancellation the newsletters that you no longer like or that bombard you with often unwanted communications.
Add to Rollup: with this option you will receive all the selected newsletters in a single email, an ideal solution to avoid finding too many unread emails each time and at the same time retain useful subscriptions.
Once you have selected the newsletters from which to unsubscribe and those to merge, simply click on Finish to complete the process and make the changes operational.
