"Yeah, whatever. Fuck off."
Picking herself up off the ground and dragging the back of her forearm along her jaw, a bit of blood would be caught up in the mess of dirt and grass that stained her sleeve. A glare of dull eyes would watch as two forms 'retreated' from her. Retreated simply in the sense that they left... The evening had been one for training, but rather dry and humorless words on the part of one female meeting the dull minds of two older shinobi had gone not super well.
Yamanaka Inokai. Incredibly intelligent and talented, or at least she would have claimed. She had little thought paid towards others though, wasn't sensitive. So when she saw something out of place or annoying, she might just say it. Sometimes people didn't like that. And while she had agreed to the little 'spar' the two had suggested, she had already realized what a beating it was going to be.
But what the fuck was she supposed to do? Run like a coward? She accepted. And at the very least she got a sensible lesson in how to land without breaking anything. Or take hits without having her face shattered. She was likely to be bruised and battered the next day still, would need to mend some of her clothes at home, and she even had a few nicks on her face from stray nails or stones from the ground. Lip bleeding, but that was typical. Shove soft flesh into teeth hard enough and guess which one is gonna give?
At least they were gone though. The Yamanaka picking herself up and brushing extra grime off her pants and jacket. The evening hadn't wrapped up like she thought it would, but it was fine. Just reinforced how badly she needed to lock in her skills. Find something useful for her arsenal. With a slow and frustrated exhale, she'd shove her hands into her pockets. Red tinted the sky as the sun was threatening to leave it, parting ways for the moon that would rise not long after. Still light, but sunset was upon the village she knew. The training grounds would be left behind, albeit slowly. Taking her time walking and testing out her body for any injury that might be worse than she originally thought.
Mind wandered. But she'd take a slow walk home, probably. It wasn't like there was much to do in the dark of the night besides sleep, right?

"Ugh. I hate feeling so sweaty after a workout."
Kaito was slowly walking home, his footsteps sluggish and weighted with every push forward. His clothes all covered in dirt as he had been running around in the mud for quite sometime. He may or may not have tripped at one point of the training session. Sufficed to say that Kontou, his father, wasn't going to be too happy with him. The blue-eyed Senju sighed. He was so tired he wouldn't even be able to argue with him, so he'd just have to stand there and take it tonight.
At least his father would likely have dinner ready by the time he got there. The teenage boy's mouth watered a little as he thought of what sizzling, juicy delicacy his father grilled on the stove.
He quickly stopped however, feeling a bit embarrassed as he PROBABLY shouldn't be drooling about food in public. If his dad was to find out about such a scandal it would be a disaster. He had an image to maintain as the son of the Clan Head. Something that his father never stopped drilling into him. Constantly. Endlessly.
He sighed, and looked up at the sunset. The red light of the dropping sun was enough to lift his spirits somewhat. The brilliant light of the falling star soothing the immense weight dropped onto his shoulders. He inhaled, and took in a rush of air with his eyes closed. He had to remind himself that there was good among the bad. Else how could he learn to live for tomorrow?
When his eyes opened, he saw a familiar face out in front. And his heart sank.
"Inokai? Is that you? Are you alright?" he quickly asked, jumping straight into the thick of it all.
His classmate didn't look well. Not at all.

It was amazing with all the positive energy in the village that should could still be such a powerfully sour individual. Hyuuga Ren being a young boy that often exuded vast amounts of smiles and jokes was one person that could be claimed to be around her ‘often.’ Yet even then, she was no giggling young girl. Inokai being of a rather dull nature had turned out to be natural. Rough around the edges and arguably as rocky on the inside as well.
So that she would cross paths with another positive face in the village should be something she was used to, right? Senju Kaito was another youth around her age, typically fairly positive, and another comparison to her childhood friend could be made as well. Both clan heirs… They were both well respected members of their clan communities and strong in addition. Well, should be. They were both young and while there was much to be impressed by, even Inokai knew they had a long way to go. Ren she realized more than Kaito, but he was hardly a fresh face to the blonde.
“Oi, Kaito.”
A quick response and greeting, confirming it was indeed her. He should have known it fairly easily so it was hardly a surprise to get her hi in return. A bit roughed up, blonde hair scraggly and messed up atop her head, a few tears here and there, but it was her. No worse for wear really, or something like that. He was covered in dirt too, he looked like he was training. Which almost bitterly had her wonder if Ren wasn’t home stuffing his face…
“Fine. Little beat up. Sparred with some older shinobi.”
Matter of fact, rather biting in how she spoke back, but the neutral look about her expression and eyes would have at least hinted that there was no malice in what she spoke. No anger pointed his way. There would be a moment when she’d pause and take a very obvious and slow once over him.
“Did you find the ground?”
A little sarcasm, though not all friendly and accompanied by a smirk. Almost insulting in how she spoke to people, though in her own sort of good humor. Ren could typically pick up on it and laugh it off. Others? It was more of a toss up to see how she was interpreted.
